Zuchowski PB’S at Burnley Half Marathon
The past weekend saw a strong contingent of Maccabi runners take to the bitumen along the Yarra River around Richmond Boulevard. The Burnley Half Marathon is known to competitively be the deepest half marathon in Australia and this year’s race was no exception with 39 runners breaking the coveted 70 min mark. Our own club coach Jarrod Zuchowski flew through the course in a PB of 72 minutes and 48 seconds, what makes his time more remarkable is Jarrod is still in the under 20 age group. Traditionally marathon runners don’t peak until their late 20’s early 30’s.
Jason Blankfield, Jon Schilling, Gavi Frieland and Ben Blecher (5km) took the perfect Spring conditions to use the event as a training hit out for future events. They all looked very strong throughout the race and enjoyed the event! Some even smiled – see attached photos.
